‘Naiyya’ vale songs are brilliant. This one, I too have never heard before… but jhat se appealing. Visually too, and I love the sound of ‘timba timba‘. (Or was it timka) Graceful dancing, and the expressions in the eyes… without the ugly gyrations, so much youthful masti.
My online friend Jyoti posted this song today, which I heard for the first time, although it’s from the classic “Chori Chori” (1956).
Pay attention to the other lyrics as well… I wonder what they mean. Will listen again.
Composition: Shankar-Jaikishan, Playback: Lata Mangeshkar, Lyrics: Hasrat Jaipuri
Now doesn’t the lyricist use some unusual words; take this one, for example. “Hillori” – (No, not Hillary!) Here, Nargis is in her element… check this song, a classic. What a beautiful setting. I love the theme, the entire flavor and mood of this song. Yes, freedom is something we should value, those of us who are privileged, make every effort to enjoy it. I wouldn’t take it for granted.
